This is perhaps the coldest, wettest spring I have ever seen since I moved to Seattle. Normally the cool damp weather doesn’t bother be me much. As I tell folks I spent the first 20 years of my life here mostly in the darkroom. So I often missed the worst of it. Sunny days were never dark room days. But this year it has slowed down my house projects. I wanted to paint the deck. Too wet. I wanted to plant basil. Too cold. But I am slowly reworking the garden, to carve out a peaceful place. At some point the warm days of summer will arrive. In the mean time I can take refuse in my studio and pretend I am puttering away in the darkroom. Creating stuff.
